Air India: Connecting Mumbai to Vijayawada
After a request from AP Chambers, Air India has considered starting a non-stop flight between Mumbai and Vijayawada. With effect from June 15, it has started daily services on this route. The inaugural flight was operated using an Airbus A320 registered as VT-EXE. Here, you can take a look at the flight timings:

AI 598 | Mumbai | 15:55 | 17:45 | Vijayawada |
AI 599 | Vijayawada | 19:10 | 21:00 | Mumbai |
Air India is the exclusive operator on this route. The route was inaugurated by the Member of Parliament of Machilipatnam (Vallabhaneni Balashowry) and Vijayawada (Kesineni Sivanadh). The director of Vijayawada Airport, Lakshmikantha Reddy called this commencement a major milestone. Air India will provide seamless connections to the Middle East via this service.
With this addition, Vijayawada is connected to nine Indian cities. It is connected to one international destination in the form of Sharjah by Air India Express.
Air India: Connecting Mumbai to Jammu
Similar to Vijayawada, the Mumbai to Jammu route was also devoid of services. From 15 June, Air India has launched non-stop flights connecting both cities. Flights will be operational six times a week (Every day except Wednesdays). Unlike the Vijayawada route, it has deployed the new Airbus A320neo fleet on this route. A320neos with registration series VT-RT- are being utilized for this service.
