Preparations Underway
As the airline gets ready to start its maiden India service, it has appointed Bird Group as the official General Sales Agent for the Indian market. Bird Group will be promoting and selling the airline’s services in the region.
With this addition, the airline is looking to provide passengers with more options to travel between India and Central Asia. Since it has a limited network, it will be catering to Point-to-Point traffic.
As of now, passengers heading from India to Armenia have to rely on Middle Eastern carriers like Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways. This non-stop connection will cut a lot of travel time.
The market between India and CIS countries is gradually growing. Mumbai is now connected to Almaty, Baku, and Tashkent with non-stop flights. On the other hand, Delhi connects to seven destinations in Central Asia: Baku, Ashgabat, Dushanbe, Tashkent, Bishkek, Moscow, and Almaty. Last year, IndiGo entered this market with a bang connecting Delhi to Almaty, Tashkent, Baku, and Tbilisi.
Conclusion
Armenia Airways is looking to connect Yerevan to Delhi. The airline has commenced bookings on its website. From 15 July, it will connect Armenia to Delhi. It will utilize the Boeing 737-300 aircraft on this route. It has partnered with Bird Group as its GSA for the Indian region.
