IndiGo, the largest airline has announced its expansion from the 38th largest city of India: Jabalpur. The airline will connect Jabalpur to Mumbai and Bengaluru. With these additions, it will be connecting Jabalpur to five Indian cities.

IndiGo: Jabalpur to Mumbai
From July 1, IndiGo will resume direct flights connecting Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) and Jabalpur Airport (JLR). The airline will operate daily flights using its Airbus A320neo fleet. Here is a look at the timings of this route:

As per the press release from IndiGo, this route will strengthen the connectivity between both regions. These flights are expected to cater to both business and leisure travelers, with new and affordable options.
Vinay Malhotra, the Head of Global Sales for IndiGo said that the airline is committed to expanding direct connectivity within the country. The recommencement of this route will provide more travel options to passengers.
In January 2019, IndiGo launched flights to Jabalpur as its 66th destination. Initially, the airline connected the city to Hyderabad and Kolkata. However, during the pandemic, it had to suspend operations from Jabalpur Airport.
Fact: Jabalpur was the first station, from where IndiGo ceased operations. However, the airline returned later.
In August 2021, IndiGo returned to Jabalpur Airport with direct connectivity to four cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Indore, and Hyderabad. Due to the P&W engine groundings, the airline had to ground the Mumbai to Jabalpur route. Now, it is returning.
SpiceJet, the other operator on this route has very inconsistent operations. It is currently operating once weekly Q400 flights on between these cities.
IndiGo: Bengaluru to Jabalpur
From 1 September 2024, IndiGo will connect Bengaluru Kempegwda International Airport (BLR) to Jabalpur Airport (JLR). The airline will operate four times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with the Airbus A320neo fleet. Here is a look at the flight timings between Bengaluru and Jabalpur:

IndiGo will become the exclusive carrier on this route. No other airline operates between these two cities at present. The bookings for this route are not available for the winter schedule. It will be interesting to see whether the airline will continue operations or not.
IndiGo has the largest network from Bengaluru Airport. The airline connects Bengaluru to 61 domestic and 8 international airports.
