Utilizing the ATR-72, it will operate four times a week between Pune and Jalgaon. From May 26, flights will be operational on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
With this, FLY91 will be operating in 7 cities across India. Jalgaon will become the second-largest operational base for the airline with three connections. As of now, bookings are available only for May month. By the end of the month, the airline will open bookings for upcoming months. From May 1, it was expected to increase the frequency of Goa to Agatti flights from 4X weekly to daily. However, for some reason, it failed to do so.
The ATR-72 fleet of FLY91 is configured with 70 seats in an all-economy configuration. These turboprops were inherited from FlyBig Airlines after accusations of fraud were made on the latter airline.
Better Alternative Than Bus/Train
By train or bus, it takes more than eight hours to travel between both cities. By air, the distance will be covered within just 30 minutes. Hence, this will save a lot of time for frequent travelers. The airline has opened flight bookings with ticket prices of Rs 1,991.
The Pune to Jalgaon route for Fly91 comes under the UDAN 5.0 scheme. On July 25, 2023, it was awarded this route. Several other routes, of which the airline has the rights but is yet to start include:
- Sindhudurg to Pune
- Nanded to Bengaluru
- Nanded to Goa
- Agatti to Bengaluru
As the fleet increases, it is expected to start more flights. As per a statement provided in April month, FLY91 is aiming to increase its fleet from two to six aircraft by September. In the next five years, it wants to add 35 aircraft and establish connections between 50 Indian cities.
Within two months of operations, the airline received its first appreciation through an award from IHC London-IIHM Hospitality. The airline was presented with this recognition for enabling connectivity across secondary and tertiary cities in India.
Currently, the airline is operating flights from Goa, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, and Agatti Islands. Overall, it is operating 11 one-way routes. Goa Manohar Parrikar International Airport (GOX) is the base of Fly91. It has signed a partnership with Goa State Tourism Department to boost tourism to the beach city.
Conclusion
As expected, the newest airline in India, Fly91 has started flight bookings between Pune and Jalgaon. This will be the airline’s third route from Jalgaon airport. With this, Pune will become the seventh destination for the airline. It is already connecting 6 cities across its network.
